Compress Image to 100 KB
Work toward a 100 KB upload limit with room for more detail than very small targets. Results still depend on your image and settings.
How to try the 100 KB target
- 1Open Target KB at 100 KB and choose a supported original image.
- 2Use the recommended resize setting, or keep dimensions when the destination requires them.
- 3Check actual size, final dimensions and image quality; download only after reviewing the reported outcome.
Keep detail that serves the task
A larger byte budget may preserve more detail than 20 KB or 50 KB, but a large or complex source may still require compromises. Begin with the target itself rather than first choosing the strongest possible compression.
Standard Compress Image is useful when you only want a smaller file and have no fixed limit. Target KB is the right entry when 100 KB is a maximum you need to check.
Verify the file you will actually submit
Check the downloaded file, not just the original preview. Confirm its dimensions and format, and look for blurred edges, damaged text or other changes that matter to your use.
If a destination rejects it, compare the exact bytes and accepted formats with its own rules. FileFit uses binary KB; a portal can use decimal units or impose other requirements that a size target alone cannot satisfy.
Target size and pixel dimensions
Choose dimensions for the destination rather than retaining extra pixels you will not use. 100 KB is 102,400 bytes in FileFit; it does not specify a particular resolution or guarantee a successful upload.
Privacy and processing
This guide does not upload a file. The linked Target KB tool processes supported images in your browser first. Any available temporary server fallback is explained and requires explicit confirmation before upload. Server files follow the scheduled-cleanup policy.

100 KB target questions
Will a 100 KB target preserve the original quality?
There is no such guarantee. JPG and WebP compression can lose detail; resizing can also change dimensions. Review the output and keep the original.
What if my original is already below the target?
The workflow can retain an already suitable original instead of unnecessarily replacing it. Review the reported result; Target KB is not an instruction to increase a file to exactly 100 KB.
Can a file under 100 KB still be rejected?
Yes. The destination may also require specific dimensions, formats or a different byte-count convention. Check its current rules separately.
